NSSA welcomes Doug Thompson as the new NSSA Chief Youth Instructor. In this role, Doug will be the leader of our NSSA Youth Camp Program. Created by our NSSA Chief Instructor, Ralph Aaron, the Youth Camp Program is a means of introducing skeet shooting to youth. We currently have approximately 15 to 18 camps each year and hope to expand those numbers with Doug’s help.
Although the NSSA Chief Youth Instructor position is a new one, Doug Thompson is highly qualified. He is an NSSA Master Instructor and has served several years as Zone IV Chief Instructor. Doug has also been involved in the Scholastic Clay Target Program, where he served as SCTP North Carolina State Director, starting youth shooting teams in North and South Carolina. Not only does he have experience as a master instructor, but he has been heavily involved in running and leading youth camps for many clubs in the southeast region of the United States.
