The legendary Wayne Mayes will be memorialized during the 2016 World Skeet Championships with the inaugural Wayne Mayes Championship on Monday, October 3. During Mayes' early days of shooting in the 1960s and 1970s, team shooting was in its prime, and team events were a favorite of Mayes. To honor that, the Wayne Mayes Championship will feature a 3-Man Team event. The 2016 World Skeet Championships will offer an impressive new award for all class champions in the 12 Gauge, 20 Gauge, 28 Gauge, .410 Bore, and Doubles events. Each champion will receive a custom-engraved 2016 World Skeet Championships commemorative shotgun as part of the awards package! The 47th Annual National Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame Banquet will be held during the 2016 World Skeet Championships on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio SeaWorld/Westover Hills in San Antonio, Texas. NSSA will induct Kevin Monteleone and Kenneth Keth into its Hall of Fame, NSSA’s highest honor.
