Henry Ford Many years ago, Henry Ford was quoted as saying, "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to the shooting sports when he made this statement, but with a little massaging it can, and in my opinion does, fit our sport. Prevent Rust We've all heard the phrase that states something like, 'Guns have only two enemies, politicians and rust.' While politicians are what I consider our greatest challenge, the only thing we can do to remedy this problem is to flush the political bowl as we need to by voting out the worst and voting in the least harmful. SCTP/SASP Nationals at Cardinal Center
The 2017 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) National Championships brought together competitive shooters, ages 8 to 23, from 32 states to compete for national titles in the shotgun disciplines of Skeet, Skeet Doubles, Sporting Clays, American Trap, Handicap Trap, Bunker Trap, and Trap Doubles. Pistol and rifle competitors competed for action steel-shooting titles in Rimfire Pistol, Centerfire Pistol, Iron Sight Rifle and Optics Rifle divisions. Jimmy Bealmear Memorial Shoot at LRSTC
Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center (LRSTC) will host its first Jimmy Bealmear Memorial Shoot on September 23-24 in honor of its long-time member who passed away in January. Jimmy started shooting skeet when he was only 8 years of age and first attended the Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center (LRSTC) back in the 1960s. By the time he was 15, he was competing in the sport at the national level as an NSSA member. Over the years, this amazing shooter shot over 128,500 registered targets and won numerous yearly state and zone championships.
