"I'm an NSSA member and want to shoot registered NSCA targets under the Crossfire program. How do I do that?" The Crossfire program allows members of the NSSA to also shoot registered sporting clays targets and NSCA members to also shoot registered skeet. The process is very easy. At your first sporting clays event, present your NSSA Membership Card. Located under the NSCA logo is your NSCA member number, and the club will record that. Once we record the shoot results at Headquarters, you will receive an NSCA Classification Card. Classification will be based on NSCA classification … [Read more...]
Question of the Week: Noise/Decibel Restrictions
"What is the restriction for noise decibels at shooting ranges and clays courses?" NSSA and NSCA do not govern the noise levels at shooting ranges. Final Shots: John Dinning
We are saddened to report the passing of John B. Dinning, Sr., on July 27 at the age of 91. Dinning was a member of the NSSA Hall of Fame and a Life Member of Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center in Maryland. NSSA Executive Committee Member Alessandro Vitale remembered Dinning as a true gentleman. "He was my coach when I was in high school," said Vitale. Always an outdoorsman and avid shotgunner, he found his way to the Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center soon after it opened in the late 1950s. Among his … [Read more...]

According to NSSA Chief Instructor Ralph Aaron, Lehman taught the Level 1, 2, and 3 instructor classes for 16 years. "He was truly a subject matter expert and was always generous with his time," said Aaron. … [Read more...]
Question of the Week: Public Availability
"I travel to the National Shooting Complex every year for the World Skeet Shoot and the Blaser, but I'd like to shoot there at other times. Is that possible?" Yes. The National Shooting Complex is open to NSC members on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm and to the public on Thursdays from 9am to 9pm and Saturdays, 9am to 5pm. NSSA and NSCA members who live outside a 75-mile radius of the complex are extended NSC membership privileges to include days and target rates. We generally have all disciples available, skeet, sporting clays, 5-stand, and trap, however, it is always a good … [Read more...]
