On December 31, NSSA-NSCA completed the purchase of 23+ acres adjoining the National Shooting Complex that creates a buffer from development and helps protect the association’s investment in its San Antonio, Texas, property. The land purchase is an important investment in the future of the National Shooting Complex, preventing any type of encroachments of residential or commercial development adjacent to our property boundary. Mike Broekhove Retires from NSC
Mike Broekhove, the head maintenance technician at the National Shooting Complex, retired July 30 after working 7 years and 11 months at the facility. Born and raised a farmer, Mike came to the National Shooting Complex looking to keep busy. "We kept him busy for sure," said Peter Masch, facilities manager. Mike is known to be resourceful, bringing numerous ideas that improved the facility as well as reducing the amount of physical labor needed for certain projects. New Hospitality Rooms Available at National Championship
For the first time at the National Sporting Clays Championship, the National Shooting Complex has two new hospitality suites that are being made available for rent to Nationals participants and vendors. Located in the newly constructed third vendor building, the new units are each 20 feet x 30 feet (600 square feet), with a glass store-front view to the north and easy access with numeric keypad lock. Shooters may rent the suites by the day for use by a squad or friends before and after shooting, for parties, or just a place to relax. "Do you offer special shooting packages or memberships at the National Shooting Complex for people who live near San Antonio?" The National Shooting Complex is open to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays and we do offer memberships. NSC members are provided Wednesdays and Fridays as additional days of shooting and also receive discounted rates on targets in all disciplines. Skeet, sporting clays, 5-stand, and trap are offered.
