Heath Wood “Woody” Anderson passed away at his home on November 21, 2021, at the age of 70, following a lengthy illness. Woody was a driving force in the world of skeet shooting, both in Texas and nationally, for many years. He was the TSSA president from 2005-2007 and TSSA secretary from 2007-2018. He served as an NSSA Director and was on the Rules Committee. He was also a long-time board member, skeet chairman, and president of the Dallas Gun Club. Final Shots: Lt. Col. Lawrence T. Drennan, Jr.
Members and staff of the NSSA are saddened to learn that Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence T. Drennan, Jr., U.S. Marine Corps (Ret), received his final marching orders on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the age of 94. He reported to the Heavenly Father and was reunited with the love of his life and wife of 72 years, Irma. Larry, or LT, as he was affectionately known by many, was born July 12, 1927, in Stonewall, Oklahoma, to the late Lawrence T. Drennan and the late Grace Mary Moshier Drennan. Longtime NSSA member and supporter William “Bill” Straub passed away June 27, 2021. Bill was born in 1943 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and is survived by his fiancé, Debra Meade, and his son William “Billy” Straub and Billy’s wife Amber. Having lived in Pennsylvania all of his life, Bill grew to enjoy the many outdoor activities the state has to offer. In his early adult years, Bill was active in the Explorer’s Club of Pittsburgh, participating in mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and other activities. The family of NSCA member James Mark "Jamie" Gerstenkorn has informed us he passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2021, after a long and remarkable battle with cancer. He was an avid sporting clays competitor and traveled to San Antonio to participate in the National Sporting Clays Championship for 13 years. He also loved competing in barbecue competitions and spending time cheering for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Green Bay Packers. Jamie was born on July 21, 1966, in Wichita. S. Hallock du Pont, Jr., of Vero Beach, Florida, and Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
